Greetings from Captain Buddy,
I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. Arriving home on December 2nd from a month bow hunting in the west, I had to make several calls to see how the fishing has been. The general consensus has been that it’s slow for Snook and Redfish. No surprise to me, because I fished the entire summer and early fall with the same results. I’ll certainly know more over the next week or so. As you know, I go places where most anglers do not go. I’m excited to get back at it! I’ll post again when I have more information.
Happy Holidays,
Captain Buddy
December 30th continuation:
I’ve fished twice recently, with reasonably good results. Both areas I fished were far into the backcountry. I caught a fair amount of baby tarpon, ranging from 5 lbs. to 20 lbs.. I didn’t catch as many snook, however, I did catch a few in the mid 20″ range. I was going to venture out today and tomorrow, however our temperatures have dipped again. I’m optimistic about the fishing with what I’ve seen recently. If you’re thinking of coming down to fish, drop me an email or text, and I’ll give you an honest update.
